Your Level 1 gate speech is a 2-minute introduction. The single most common failure — confirmed against every test manuscript we score — is opening with identity instead of incident. "I am here to introduce myself" is invisible. A specific moment is not.
Suggested pace: about a week. This lesson works best across a few short sessions, not one sitting — write today, come back and revise in a day or two, then rehearse once more before you submit. Real progress comes from returning to the same skill more than once, rested, not from cramming it all in at once.
Before writing anything, spend a few minutes actually thinking, not drafting: what are the moments in your life you'd tell a close friend, not the ones you'd put on a résumé? Don't write your speech yet — just notice the difference between the two lists in your head.
Take the moment you picked and go one layer further: what did you believe before that moment, that you no longer believe after it? If you can't answer that, you may have picked a moment that's interesting but doesn't actually mark a change — worth reconsidering before you build your opening around it.
