Storytelling Architecture
Why This Matters
Your Level 2 gate speech is a 5-minute persuasive speech, scored in part on storytelling quality. A persuasive speech without a story leans entirely on logic — and logic alone rarely moves a real audience to act. This week builds the narrative spine your argument will stand on.
This Week's Exercise
Identify the one experience in your life that most directly proves the point you're arguing. Not an example — something that happened to you.
Structure it in three beats: the moment before you understood the problem, the moment you understood it, and what changed because you did.
Place that story in the first third of your speech, before you introduce your main argument — let the story earn the argument's right to exist.
Cut any detail in the story that doesn't serve the persuasive point. A great story with the wrong details is still the wrong story for this speech.
