Manuscript Lab
Why This Matters
This is a revision week, not a new-content week. Everything you've built across Weeks 1–5 — story, argument, audience awareness, engagement, rhetorical craft — now gets assembled and pressure-tested as one complete manuscript before you submit it to the gate.
This Week's Exercise
Read your full manuscript straight through, out loud, without stopping to fix anything — just notice where you stumble, rush, or lose the thread.
Go back and address every place you stumbled. If you tripped over a sentence twice, the sentence is the problem, not you.
Check your opening and closing lines against each other — do they speak to the same idea? A strong close often echoes the open.
Submit the manuscript to the Level 2 gate. If it doesn't clear the threshold, the coaching feedback will tell you exactly which category to revisit — treat that as the next draft, not a failure.
Coach's Note — Patricia Fripp: Precision isn't about adding more — it's about removing everything that isn't earning its place. Read every sentence and ask: does this need to be here, or am I just comfortable with it? Cut what you're only comfortable with.
